‘Plans to renovate UI’s ITeMS underway’, says Director

The newly appointed Director of University of Ibadan’s Information Technology and Media Services (ITeMS), Mrs. Abiodun Abiba Alao has promised the university community that “better days are ahead for the institution in terms of efficient information and communication experience as efforts are underway to renovate the Directorate “

Mrs. Alao, who is the first female computer specialist to head the Directorate of ITeMS since its creation, also vowed that very soon, the university community would notice tremendous improvements in the quality of service her Directorate will be offering .

While  outlining a number of action plans,  Also assured  that she was coming with a lot of experience with which she hoped to take the Directorate to higher levels.

Reacting to the complaint of inadequate facilities including chairs, tables, charging points in the ITeMS’ building, the Director brought out an architectural design from her table, saying “we are aware of the challenges facing us, we have decided to address these challenges and you can see this design. Each floor of the building will be given a facelift”
“Part of my plans is to provide innovative, simple, efficient, and secure IT services , promote the ideals and values and project UI in the assembly of leading global institutions just as I wish to provide platforms for continuous improvement and prepare stakeholders for the future”, she stated, pointing out that her leadership would provide high quality computing-related training opportunities.

Mrs. Alao, a member of Computer Professional Registration Council of Nigeria appealed to the university community to be a bit more patient, saying “soon , everyone will have value for their investments in the University’s ITeMS.
