Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil could leave in January unless contract negotiations progress, hints Arsene Wenger

Arsenall boss Arsene Wenger has hinted he’ll consider selling Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in the January transfer window if the pair fail to commit their long-term futures to the club.

The duo are both out of contract at the end of the season and negotiations over new deals have stalled.

Sanchez was desperate to join Manchester City last summer but saw a deadline day move to the Etihad collapse after Arsenal failed to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco.

Pep Guardiola remains interested in the Chilean, while Jose Mourinho is keen on signing Ozil.

Arsenal remain keen on keeping the duo but Wenger has hinted he could be forced into selling the pair if they fail to progress on contract talks before the end of the year.

‘No decision has been made on that front,’ Wenger told beIN Sport.

‘Do we let anyone go in January? We’ll have to think about that to see where we stand with them at the end of December.’

While interest in Sanchez was severe last summer, Ozil failed to attract the same level of attention.

However, the German is wanted by Manchester United and the Red Devils could move for him in January to avoid the risk of losing him in an open auction at the end of the season.
