The multi dimensional businessman whose conglomerates’ operations stretch across oil and gas, flour milling, real estate is said to be meeting people that matters in the political sectors in the state and beyond on behalf of Adelabu, a source disclosed.
The umbilical cord that tied the duo, as reliably gathered is the late Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Arisekola Alao.
An inside source hinted that Oba Otudeko had earlier met with the incumbent governor of Oyo state, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to solicit their supports for Adelabu’s candidature.
Mega Icon Magazine checks also revealed that apart from meeting with eminent personalities, the business mogul, Otudeko is also using his connection to facilitate financial support for the guber hopeful, Adelabu if he eventually gets the APC ticket.
Interestingly, the political atmosphere is avowedly opaque for the aspirants in the state eyeing the Agodi Government House, Chief Akin Oke, who chairs the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) also averred. However, from all indications, the APC ticket is between Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, principal partner at KPMG and Bayo Adelabu.
Though, political analysts are of the opinion that Tegbe stands a better chance of clinching the APC ticket because of his wide political networking and consultation.
However, some Ibadan elders, including Oloye Lekan Alabi are routing for Adelabu based on his worthwhile relationship with the late Aare Musulumi, Arisekola Alao, the benevolent leader.
Continuing, in the last few weeks, the aggressive political strategy and campaign by Adelabu as he penetrates the delegates, including the newly elected councilors across the state; the direct participants at the delegates conference billed for tomorrow has also enhanced his chances.

Ugandan Court Hands Ex-LRA Commander 40-Year Sentence
In a historic ruling, a Ugandan court on Friday sentenced former Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) commander Thomas Kwoyelo to 40 years in prison.
This landmark decision, marking the first time a member of the notorious LRA has faced trial for war crimes in a Ugandan court, follows the group’s brutal two-decade insurgency against the Ugandan government.
Kwoyelo, who was convicted in August on 44 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity, faced charges including murder, rape, torture, pillaging, abduction, and the destruction of settlements for internally displaced people.
Michael Elubu, lead judge of the case at the International Crimes Division (ICD) of Uganda’s High Court, delivered the sentence in the northern city of Gulu, underscoring a rare moment of accountability in the decades-long history of the LRA’s violence.
Judge Elubu stated that Kwoyelo retains the right to appeal both his conviction and sentence within 14 days.
Kwoyelo, who was abducted by the LRA at the age of 12 and later rose to a low-level command position within the organization, denied all charges brought against him.
The Lord’s Resistance Army, founded by Joseph Kony in the 1980s, sought to establish a regime based on the Ten Commandments. Under Kony’s leadership, the group unleashed widespread terror across Uganda and neighboring regions, resulting in over 100,000 deaths and the abduction of 60,000 children.
The violence eventually spread to Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and the Central African Republic.
