Oyo:  Makinde promises to conduct local government election in 2020

Election into all the 33 local government areas of Oyo state will be conducted before the first quarter of the year 2020.o

The Oyo state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde stated this in a live chat on Bcos television and other Radio and Television stations across the state

According to him, the present administration will spread dividends of democracy to the grassroot through local government administration.

Makinde explained that election will only be held in the 33 local governments across the state while appointment will be made to 35 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) under the newly constituted Oyo state Independent Electoral Commission.

The Governor also said he will not interfere in the local government affairs so as to make all the council areas in the state more functional.

He assured the people of Oyo state of his administration’s commitment to transform the state through meaningful programmes.

The number one citizen of Oyo state explained that government under his watch will give welfare of people in the state the utmost priority.

Also on the issue of environmental sanitation, Governor Seyi Makinde said he has an ad hoc committee led by the head of service of Oyo state, Alhaja Amidat Agboola to work with other relevant stakeholders’ on how to ensure hygienic environment in the state.

He said all arrangements in regards of waste management will remain the same,  urging people to contribute their quota to ensure proper management of waste.
