Oyo 2019: Group drums support for Ajimobi’s senate bid

A group with the name Ajimobi Solidarity Movement, (ASM) on Sunday declared its resolve to push for the nomination of Governor Abiola Ajimobi as the senatorial candidate for Oyo South Senatorial District.

The group, aims at promoting the giant strides of Governor Abiola Ajimobi led administration also spread its tentacles across the 33 local governments and 35 LCDAs in Oyo state.

At the programme, APC leaders and political functionaries pledged their total loyalty to Oyo South Senatorial ambition of the incumbent Governor of the state.

Speaking on the establishment of ASM, its prominent member and Council Chief of Ibadan South West Local Government, Alhaji Taoreed Adeleke said the group was established to appreciate Governor Ajimobi for his good work in the state.

According to him, the Oluyole council boss, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Alesinloye is the state coordinator, Alh Najeemdeen Abass will be Chairman, Ibadan Zone while members were drawn from the three Senatorial districts in the state.

He emphasized the need for members of ASM to collect their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs and spread the movement in their respective wards and areas.

In their separate remarks, the majority leader, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Kehinde Subair and his counterpart, who is also the Chairman, Parliamentary council, Hon Olusegun Ajanaku, Prince Johnson Gbadegesin pledged their supports to senatorial ambition of the governor

They said, if Governor Ajimobi decided to represent Oyo South Senatorial District in 2019, the state will not lack behind in the next political dispensation.

Others in their contributions lauded Alh Taoreed Adeleke and other followers of Senator Abiola Ajimobi for their commitments at ensuring success of APC in the state.

The programme had in attendance political stakeholders and members of the Ajimobi Solidarity Movement in the state.
