OSUN 2018: Guber aspirant, Oyetola vows to build on Aregbesola’s legacies

CHIEF of Staff to Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola has pledged to build on the achievements of his boss and improve on the areas yet to be fully actualised, to better the lives of the people of Osun State, if given the mandate.

Oyetola made this pledge while declaring his intention to occupy the Abere Government House on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC in the forthcoming governorship election at a press briefing in Osogbo, the Osun state capital.

The governorship aspirant reassured that all programmes and projects embarked by the Aregbesola administration will be reviewed and consolidated.

According to him, “We would  continue with leadership values of the incumbent administration to unite our people, jettison primordial sentiment and work for their development”.

Oyetola reiterated that for the past seven and a half years as Chief of Staff to governor Aregbesola, he has dedicated himself to the public service of Osun people in the faithful implementation of the six integral  action plan of the present administration.

Also, he promised to make the welfare of workers his priority when elected.

Speaking further, the guber hopeful informed that his administration will be guided by the experience acquired from the implementation of the Six Integral Action Plan of banishing hunger, poverty, unemployment, restore healthy living, promote functional education and enhancement of communal peace and progress.

Oyetola who boasted that he has the experience and pedigree to make it work if elected as the next governor, however commended the state governor, Aregbesola for his huge investment in education, infrastructure, school feeding,  health and other equitable developments in the state, describing his superlative performance as second to none in the country.

While disclosing that his administration will collaborate with private sector and Non -Governmental Organisations, NGOs to identify and patronize the socioeconomic and other needs of the state, the Chief of Staff further promised to invest in regular training and retraining of teachers in order to help students meet standards.

“Teachers need more resources and the pay they deserve. If you give me your mandate, innovation, quality, accountability and effective teaching will be my approach. I will strengthen technical vocational education to provide technical skills for our people.

“We will leverage on the Osun Youth Empowerment Scheme and then move forward to employ more and provides a more conducive environment in the critical sectors including agriculture, mining, tourism education and social services”, Oyetola continued.
