2019: INEC poor system frustrating Nigerians registering for PVC

Some eligible voters in different locations in Abuja are finding it difficult obtaining their Permanent Voters Card ,PVC, in the ongoing registration exercise.

DAILY POST can authoritatively report that in many locations, residents seeking their ‘voters card’ are turned down by officials of the Independent Nation Electoral Commission, INEC, over insufficient working tools and manpower.

Most of the electorate who spoke with our correspondent said they have been frequenting the location without been attended to, lamenting that they are being denied their legitimate right.

Those who spoke to DAILY POST is a Doctor at the PVC registration at Dutse Alhaji Primary School, Dutse, F.C.T Abuja, who disclosed that only 20 people are attended to daily because of ” lack of system charger’ as they share same Charger with Kubwa. He, however, pleaded not to be mentioned in print.

She said, last week, they only attended to 5 people because the system was slow.

Ibe at Woman Boku Primary School said, ”We see what INEC is doing to this registration, they want to frustrate us so we won’t vote, but they will not succeed.”

One Shehu Ahmed said, ” For three days, I have been coming here to register but they only register 50 people a day and tell the rest to go, is this how they want to succeed in 2019?”

Magnus Efot, a trader said, it seems the federal government is not serious about the registration exercise , really I don’t know why I should leave my shop to this place for the fourth time, yet no one will even explain to me why I cant register. I don’t think we are making progress in this country.

However, a check on the official AMAC timetable for registration, shows that there is not enough registration centers in Abuja.

According to the timetable, there is only one center for Gwarinpa, Nyanya and Karu area of Abuja.
