OYO State deputy governor, Otunba Moses Alake-Adeyemo, on Monday officially joined the governorship race when he informed his party’s executive members of his intention to contest the 2019 elections.
Otunba Adeyemo who visited the party secretariat situated at Oke-Ado area of Ibadan, the state capital expressed his intention to contest for the most exalted post in the state through a letter of notification.
The letter titled ‘Gubernatorial Race 2019’ reads : ‘With deep sense of humility and due respect, I wish to officially notify our great Executive Members of our great party (All Progressive Congress) of my intention to contest for the governorship position of our party in 2019.
“Let me assure our dynamic members of our party that I shall abide by all rules and regulations as entrenched in the party’s constitution and also conduct myself as a candidate as required by INEC laws and laws of the country.
“Thanking you for your services to the party, state and the country at large”, its continued.
Responding, the party Chairman, Chief Akin Oke who assured that all qualified and willing members will be offered a level playing ground to pursue their ambitions, however cautioned aspirants to play to the rules and wait for the proper time to start their expected mobilization so as not to run foul of the laws of the land.
