Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande has congratulated the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his 70th birthday anniversary.
Akande, in a statement in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital noted that as a former governor of Lagos state, Tinubu’s footprints will forever remain indelible, expressing joy that God in his infinite mercy has spared him to enjoy the fruits of his labour.
The statement read, ” It is my joy to felicitate with a leader of leaders who has built many great men in Nigeria. Asiwaju Bola Tinubu remains a reference point in Nigerian Political history. He has no doubt made immense contributions to the socio-political and economic growth of Nigeria.
“As a former governor of Lagos,the nation’s commercial nerve centre, Sen Tinubu’s footprints will forever remain indelible. He indeed brought to bear his financial wizardry that turned the economic fortune of Lagos around. The enviable position which Lagos occupies today as the fifth largest economy in Africa is to the glory of God and through the intellectual acumen of Asiwaju Tinubu.
“Senator Tinubu is a political colossus who has made great contributions to sustain democracy in Nigeria since the begining of the fourth republic. He is a dogged defender of democracy. As governor, he led Lagos to secure a landmark judgement against the federal government at the Supreme court on the creation of Local Government Development Areas which are still in operation today.His political activism has impacted hugely on the contemporary Nigerian federal system”, Akande added.
