Transfer: Nigerian forward set to leave Arsenal

Nigeria winger Xavier Amaechi is set to leave Arsenal this summer.

The player is heavily linked with a summer move to German club Hamburg.

German newspaper, Bild reports that Arsenal have accepted a 2.5 million euros bid for the player.

Arsenal was left out of the first team’s tour squad to the United States and did not feature for the U23s in their friendly vs Barnet this week.

Amaechi capable of playing on either wing, penned his first professional contract with Arsenal in January 2018.

He could be the latest youngster of Nigerian descent to move to a German club after RB Leipzig’s capture of Ademola Lookman.

Amaechi joined Arsenal from Fulham Academy in August 2013.
