Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has urged Mesut Ozil to make the team his own following Alexis Sanchez‘s departure.
Manchester United announced the signing of Sanchez earlier this week in a deal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan head in the opposite direction to north London.
There were fears that the Chilean’s exit could impact Arsenal’s players in their Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Chelsea but the Gunners recovered well after an early Eden Hazard goal to beat their London rivals 2-1 at the Emirates.
Asked about Sanchez’s move ahead of the win, Sky Sports pundit Henry said: ‘He [Ozil] has to make it his team.
‘Alexis Sanchez is gone. If he plays all the time like he did against Crystal Palace, he’s unplayable.’
Arsene Wenger admitted that ‘uncertainty’ in Arsenal’s dressing room has disappeared following Sanchez’s Old Trafford move.
‘Uncertainty [has gone],’ Wenger said following the defeat of Chelsea.
‘We lost a great player, but of course, it’s true that when the team doesn’t know what’s going on, there’s less clarity and less focus on performances.
‘Now we know that we have to deal with that and we can get on by giving everyone a little bit more.’
