Cristiano Ronaldo saved Portugal from defeat, scoring a brilliant hat-trick as they drew 3-3 against Spain, in the first game of their 2018 World Cup campaign.
The Real Madrid superstar opened scoring as early as the 4th minute. Ronaldo was fouled by his team-mate at club level, Nacho and the referee pointed to the spot. He sent De Gea the wrong way from the resulting penalty.
Diego Costa levelled for Spain with a superb solo effort, but Ronaldo put his side back in front, as his shot was fumbled in by De Gea.
Costa equalized 10 minutes after the break and then Nacho fired the Spaniards in front for the first time in the game.
But with two minutes left on the clock, Ronaldo stepped up and spanked a free-kick into the top corner.
