NOW that’s one way to light up a stadium.
Rennes fans might of not had much to cheer about on the pitch in recent years, but off it they deserve a Turner Prize for their artistic banners.
The French side have an incredible home support, exemplified by their fan group the Roazhon Celtic Kop, who love tapping into pop culture.
In recent months, the RCK has made sure they’ve got right behind their team, while paying tribute to Star Wars, Breaking Bad and even Heath Ledger’s Joker.
Whether or not that installs fear into their opponents when they step onto the pitch, who knows!
But we think they’re the most colourful and creative fans in the world.
The RCK display their banners in the Tribune Mordelles end of their stadium, where their fierce fan base was born.
They were officially founded in 1991, although its roots trace back to 1987 when a group of Ultras Roazhon fans were born.
That was when three young fans decided they wanted to make the Mordelles the heartbeat of the stadium.
And not only do they make their presence known with their arty banners, they’ve been known to break out flares, choreograph goal celebrations and sing continuously.
The RCK have also made the record books for making and displaying the largest Gwenn-ha-du (Flag of Brittany) in history, measuring over 2900 feet.
When it comes to values, the RCK strongly oppose football business, they suppress the ultra-movement and stand against racism.
All-in-all, they’re a great bunch of lads and we salute their creative minds in making football more than just a game.
