Real Madrid are ready to battle La Liga rival Barcelona, for the signature of Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele.
According to Catalan broadcaster, RAC 1, Madrid want to hijack a move for the 20-year-old.
Dembele has been suspended and fined by Dortmund, after failing to report for training on Thursday, amid speculation that he wants to join Barcelona.
It is understood that Dembele prefers a move to the Camp Nou, but Madrid president Florentino Perez has asked his counterpart at Dortmund, Reinhard Rauball, to keep him abreast of the France international’s availability before a move is made.
Barca have seen an off rejected already, but are expected to return with a new bid closer to Dortmund’s asking price of €120million – €150 million, in an effort to get the deal done.
