Hon. Mojeed Adekunle Olaoya, the Oyo State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is presently mourning over the death of his mother, Alhaja Hamdalat Omotoyosi Olaoya of Aleshinloye Compound, Isale-Ijebu, Ibadan who passed away on Thursday.
Alhaja Olaoya died at the age of 99 and she has since been buried in her son’s residence at Alabidun Quarters, Alakia-Airport, Ibadan on Thursday, according to Islamic rites. Also, she was survived by two sons, Hon Mojeed Adekunle Olaoya and Mr Semiu Ayodeji Olaoye and grand children.
The Oyo APC scribe who betrayed his emotions during a chat with the Event Diary crew of Mega Icon Magazine said, “we planned to celebrate Mama’s 100th birthday next year, unfortunately we lost her. This is indeed a big loss because she was somebody you won’t like to part with. I will surely miss her”.
Until her death, the late Alhaja Olaoya was a businesswoman, community and religious leader.
Family, however informed that the 8th Day Fidau prayers would come up next week Thursday at a venue to be announced later.
Members of the APC in Oyo state, both high and low trooped out, including the party’s governorship nominee, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu, leaders, Council Chairmen, councillors, state executive members were also around to pay their last respect to the departed nonagenarian.
Other dignitaries in the state have also expressed condolences to the former lawmaker, Hon Olaoye on the death of his mother.
