The present administration in Oyo state is committed to ensure adequate security through synergy between security operatives.
The Chief of staff to the Oyo state governor, Chief Bisi Ilaka stated this while addressing members of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Oyo state chapter who stage a peaceful protest on the spate of kidnapping in the state.
According to Chief Ilaka, the state government under the watch of Governor Seyi Makinde would give priority to security of lives and property through effective collaboration of all relevant stakeholders in the state.
He explained that the government is aware of the spate of kidnapping in the Southwest region adding that proactive steps would be taken by the governments in the Southwest.
In her address, the NAWOJ Chairperson, Jadesola Ajibola said the essence of peaceful rally is to call the attention of relevant stakeholders and government to the spate of kidnapping in the southwest region.
Ajibola also called on the state government to establish family court for the advancement of the state.
Also, Dr Omotayo Lewis, one of the facilitators emphasized the need for government to see the issue of kidnapping especially by the suspected helmsmen for the overall development of the country.
