Oyo 2019: Ajanaku, Adepoju’s Names Missing On INEC National Assembly Final List

THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday released the names of candidates for the 2019 National Assembly elections in Oyo state and it has been discovered that the Zenith Labour Party’s (ZLP) candidate for Ibadan Southwest/ Northwest Federal Constituency, Otunba Rotimi Ajanaku’s name is not on the list of  those vying for the seat.

The final list which was displayed and obtained by Mega Icon Magazine at the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ibadan, the state capital showed that Mr Abolaji Mumeen Gbadamasi is listed as the Federal House of Assembly candidate of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in the federal constituency.

In a related development, former council boss of Ido Local Government, Hon. Isiaka Adeola retains the ticket of ZLP Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency instead of Mr Bimbo Adepoju, whose name was submitted for substitution.

INEC Final List released

Confirming this development on Saturday through a press statement issued by the ZLP Oyo State Publicity Secretary, Barrister Olajide Olanipekun informed that the party has discovered that there are mix up concerning the substitution of some candidates who are no more members of the ZLP for those who were validly nominated by the party.

“We wish to assure members of our party that necessary steps are being taken to reverse the mix up especially in respect of Oyo South and North senatorial districts and some House of Representative candidates”, the statement added.
