Osinbajo, Sheriff hold closed door meeting in Aso Rock

A former governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff on Thursday held a meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

He arrived Osinbajo’s office at about 3:30pm.

Osinbajo went into the closed-door meeting with Sheriff shortly after presiding over a meeting of the National Economic Management Team.

Sheriff was a former member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He defected to People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and was until recently chairman of the opposition party.

Sheriff was reportedly approached by some APC stakeholders to return the party.

Meanwhile, the PDP has suspended Chairman of Capital Oil and Gas, Ifeanyi Ubah.

​Similarly, ​the senator representing Ogun East Senatorial district, Buruju Kashamu has been referred to the party’s disciplinary committee.
