The Ogun State Police Command has resolved the disappearance case of 18-year-old Quadri Sallami, a 100-level student at Obafemi Awolowo University, reportedly slaughtered by ritualists on November 14, 2023.
Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola revealed that two suspects have been apprehended in connection with the crime, exposing disturbing details surrounding the victim’s vanishing since November 8, 2023.
Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu personally led a Tactical Squad to Mile 6 in the Ajemo area of Abeokuta, where a shallow grave concealed the decomposing remains of the deceased. The breakthrough followed a tracking clue leading to suspect Akeem Usman, arrested with the victim’s phone.
Usman confessed to the crime, implicating accomplice Ifadowo Niyi, divulging a gruesome act of slaughtering the victim and dismembering vital parts for ritual purposes. Shockingly, the suspects admitted to using four other human heads for money rituals.
Currently held at Eleweran’s State Criminal Investigation Department, the suspects await discreet investigation and prosecution, sparking concerns about the prevalence of ritualistic activities in the region.
