Neymar has learned how to be the perfect mentor from Lionel Messi, and is now passing on his wisdom to Paris Saint-Germain wonder kid Kylian Mbappe.
The Brazilian superstar joined the Ligue 1 giants this summer in a £197m move from Barcelona, making him the world’s most expensive player, weeks before Mbappe swapped Monaco for a season loan in the French capital.
And PSG vice-captain Marquinhos has revealed how Messi’s influence on Neymar is being handed down to France international Mbappe – with the pair notching 13 goals between them this season.
“Neymar knows how important he is for Kylian, as Messi was important for him, as Ronaldinho was important for Messi,” Marquinhos told AFP.
“Kylian is an adorable guy, and the two of them hit it off straight away,” said Marquinhos.
“Even if they don’t speak the same language, on the pitch you can see how well they get on.
“Both of them are capable (of winning the Ballon d’Or). The main thing is that it’s magnificent to have the pair of them here.
“Neymar’s a wonderful player. When it’s a big game that’s when he shows the most character, the best attitude.
“He likes to take charge of things and he loves a boiling atmosphere.”
