Last Days of PVC Registration: Oyo ADP plead with indigenes to register for elections

THE Action Democratic Party (ADP), Oyo State chapter has called on the people of the state to troop out en masse in the last few days of the Permanent Voters Registration (PVC) exercise to register for the 2019 elections.

The party in a press statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Hon Lawal Akindele, in Ibadan and made available to Mega Icon Magazine reminded the indigenes of the state that their vote is the weapon they have to change the government in the state for a better one.

The Action Democratic Party (ADP) noted that it was time for the people to take action and move away from the lamentations of bad government in the state which has become a pastime of the people in the state.

Action Democratic Party (ADP) noted that the complaints about none payment of salaries, dirty cities, government- induced frictions among traditional rulers and chiefs, bad roads, inadequate healthcare service and other inadequacies in the state will remain continue unless the people harness their voting power to vote in the Action Democratic Party in the 2019 elections.

“The complaints against the incumbent government on all fronts will remain mere lamentation unless we exercise our rights to vote in a new government next year

“The quest for a good government in Oyo State is widespread and the loud clamour is loud in every street corner. However, it is time for us to take action and go beyond mere complaints.

“Let us troop out in the remaining days of the voter registration exercise so that we are qualified to be part of the historic process of changing the incumbent government to a better one next year.

“The Action Democratic Party, (ADP) is determined to ensure quality free education programme that will be free at the primary and secondary levels, provide bursary and loans to students and ensure the release of full subvention to higher institutions to guarantee payment of salaries to lecturers and workers and guarantee uninterrupted academic programmes in the institutions.

“The Action Democratic Party, (ADP) will also leverage on agriculture, solid minerals, tourism and the creative energy of our youths in ICT to improve the revenue profile of the state so that government can deliver on its responsibilities to the people of the state”.

Akindele also noted that the promises of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) cannot be actualised in the state unless the people exercise their right to vote which they can do only if they register for the elections.

The Action Democratic Party (ADP) further appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to use the few remaining days to take the exercise to those areas which have not had the opportunity of registering for the exercise.

“We appeal to INEC to please identify those areas where complaints have been loud about lack of INEC registration facilities. We plead that INEC provide materials for the exercise in these areas so as to allow the people to register to perform their civic responsibility”.
