An Ibadan Magistrate’s Court, on Tuesday, ordered the remand of a popular radio presenter, Mr. Oriyomi Hamzat, in Agodi Prison for alleged murder of a 17-year old boy.
The accused, Hamzat, 37 was docked along with four others namely, Idowu Ibrahim 27, Mohammed Bashir 31, Taiwo Olaronke 23 and Yusuff Toyeeb Ajisafe 23 at Court 3 Iyaganku, Ibadan.
They were arraigned on a two counts charge of conspiracy and murder with charge no : MI/1248C/2017.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. A. A. Adebisi in his ruling ordered the accused to be remanded in Agodi Prison pending the legal advice from the state Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The prosecutor, Mr. Sunday Fatola, told the court that Oriyomi Hamzat and others, on July 21, 2017 at about 4am, at Make a Future Alive Initiative, Atolu, Para Inuege, Oremiji Agugu in the Ibadan Magisterial District conspired together to commit murder.
Fatola further told the court that they unlawfully caused the death of one Peter (17) by inflicting an injury on his head and body.
Prosecutor said the offence was contrary to and punishable under Section 324 and section 316 and 319 of the criminal code cap 38 Vol 11 laws of Oyo state of Nigeria 2000.
Mr Adebisi, however, adjourned
hearing until September 5, 2017 pending legal advice.
