THE lawmaker representing Ajingi/ Albasu/ Gaya federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya has felicitated with the Speaker, Rt. Hon.Femi Gbajabiamila, who turns 57 years today.
Gaya assured that the 9th National Assembly under Gbajabiamila’s leadership will remain focused and people – oriented owing to his dexterity, capacity and vibrancy.
Gaya stated this in a press statement issued and made available to newsmen in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
The lawmaker also described the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Gbajabiamila , as a consummate statesman whose emergence as Speaker has inspired other Nigerian politicians to put the people’s interest first.
“I have enjoyed working with him since the inauguration of the 8th National Assembly”.
He maintained that throughout Gbajabiamila’s sixteen years in the House, he has consistently demonstrated that he is an emerging modern and consummate statesman who always put the interest of the Nigerian people first.
He posited that Gbajabiamila as a Speaker will promote independence of the legislature and his outstanding contributions to the nation building, describing him as “a courageous and patriotic leader, saying his consistent display of unwavering commitment to the unity, peace and progress of Nigeria and particularly, the independence of the legislature is legendary and worthy of commendation.
“As Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila celebrates his 57th birthday today, I wish him more wisdom, foresight to steer the ship of the House peacefully. May Allah grant him sound health”. Gaya, however solicited the support and cooperation of other lawmakers in order to bring good governance to Nigerians
