Exclusive: Tech-U, Ibadan pioneer VC, Salami resumes tomorrow.

FOLLOWING the Oyo state governor’s approval, Abiola Ajimobi of the appointment of Professor Ayobami Taofeek Salami as the pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Technical University, Ibadan with immediate effect for a term of five years, the Vice – Chancellor will tomorrow, May 12, 2017 formally resume office as the Chief Executive of the institution.

Professor Salami disclosed this today shortly after a brief meeting with the state commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Adeniyi Olowofela and his Permanent Secretary, Mrs Aderonke Makanjuola held at the commissioner’s office.

Also, the commissioner handed over vehicles belonging to the institution to Professor Salami.

Professor Salami, who was recently appointed after intense evaluations hails from Akinyele Local Government Area of the state.

The new Tech-U VC, Salami is a widely travelled scholar and internationally-sought after environmental consultant with previous teaching and research experience in University of the Gambia, The Gambia; University of Dar es Sallam, Tanzania and International  Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation, Enschede, The Netherlands.

Vehicles that were handed over to the Vice Chancellor, Technical University, Ibadan, Prof. Salami, today in Ibadan.

He was until his appointment, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Director, Institute of Ecology and Environmental studies at the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife.
