Few days to his May 29 inauguration, fear of the unknown has become the order of the day at the Oyo State House of Assembly as the outgoing lawmakers , including members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)  are currently lobbying to make Seyi Makinde’s new cabinet.
Mega Icon Magazineinvestigation revealed that the newly-elected  governor, Makinde is under intense pressure from these lawmakers who had hired lobbyists for appointments as commissioners, board members and aides  among others, in his  proposed cabinet.
The lawmakers, as reliably gathered  have also marked close relations and political godfathers of the governor-elect, Makinde for assistance to get their desired offices.
“Irrespective of any political faith, political calculations have begun with respect to who will make the new cabinet list. In fact, the lawmakers are desperately jostling for cabinet seats under Engr Seyi Makinde. Some are even targeting ordinary board members “, an highly impeccable source told our reporter.
Meanwhile, serving  members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) which include, the Deputy Speaker, Hon.  Abdulwasi Musah, Hon Muyideen Olagunju  Alatede  representing Oyo East/West state constituency,  Hon Akeem Ademola Ige (Ibadan South East II Constituency) among others are likely to secure juicy appointments under the Seyi Makinde led PDP government as they were affected by the coalition arrangement which favoured the newly elected PDP lawmakers.
“However,  considering Engr Seyi Makinde’s body language, the governor-elect is eager to run an inclusive government by allocating some positions to members of the opposition parties, so as to accommodate all the interests for the advancement of the state”, Mega Icon Magazine source added.
