THE former deputy governor of Ogun state, Senator Adegbenga Kaka has called for more youths’ participation in the governance of Nigeria. Senator Kaka made this call when he received executive members of Movement For Good governance Initiatives (MGGI) at his Ijebu Igbo residence, Ogun State.
He disclosed that the era of good governance in Nigeria some years ago can be attributed to the participation of people like Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Nnamdi Azikwe, Aminu Kano among others in the nation polity then. He emphasised the need for positive involvement of Nigerian youths in decision making and called on them to desist from being a tool for political violence in the hands of politicians.
Speaking further, Kaka pledged his commitment and support to the good cause of MGGI adding that Nigeria needs youths that can join in moving the nation forward.
Earlier, the convener, MGGI, Mr Lekan Shobowale said the group is out to complement the effort of important stakeholders in the nation polity to restore good governance in Nigeria. He added that MGGI will continue to educate, enlighten and spread the gospel of good governance in Nigeria.
