Ekiti: Online Media Practitioners’ Seeks Partnership With Afe Babalola University

EKITI state chapter of the Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (OMPAN), has paid a-day official visit to the Vice Chancellor of the Afe Babalola University (ABUAD), Professor Michael Ajisafe to discuss areas the association could partner together to project the great Institution of higher learning. 

Receiving the Ekiti State OMPAN team at the Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital; Dr. Taye Babaleye, the Head of Program in the Department of Communications and Media Studies of ABUAD was elated to welcome the delegation into ABUAD community.

“The Online Media is the in-thing now. Online Media practice is now global. Its not limited to Nigeria”, Dr. Taye Babaleye averred.

He urged the OMPAN body in Ekiti State to maintain consistency and always exercise self censorship, not carrying fake news that will set the political parties against each other or religious bodies against each other. He enjoined the Ekiti OMPAN to ensure it stand out and be willing to work with the ABUAD as a great Institution of learning.

Babaleye, however pledged his readiness to partner with the Association of Online Practitioners and maintain a very good relationship with the association in the area of effective dissemination of information that will continue to project and present ABUAD in a good light.

Mrs. Omolola Oluwasola who is a Specialist in Advertising and Digital Marketing for the Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) was also in attendance.

Dr. Taye Babaleye, the Head of Program in the Department of Communications and Media Studies and Mrs. Omolola Oluwasola, a Specialist in Advertising and Digital Marketing thereafter led the Ekiti OMPAN team to the Office of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Michael Ajisafe where they were well received.

Reacting to the visit, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Michael Ajisafe promised to work in partnership with OMPAN. He expressed his satisfaction over the visit, while pledging to carry along the body in the future events and programmes of the Institution.

Earlier, in his remarks, the State Chairman and Secretary, Abere Ayodele and Emmanuel Adeniran of the Ekiti State OMPAN lauded the founder of the Afe Babalola University, Are Afe Babalola (SAN) for his contributions and impacts he has made upon his community and the state in general.
