ONIMEKO of Imeko, His Royal Majesty, Oba Benjamin Oyeditan Olanite (Akanku IV), today appealed to the people of Imeko, Ogun State and Nigeria at large, to always accommodate one another and live in peace and unity for the overall good of the citizenry.
Oba Olanite in his Eid-El-Kabir message said: “I felicitate with all our countrymen and women of the Islamic faith as we celebrate this year’s Eid-El-Kabir.
“Let us rededicate and recommit ourselves to the Holy Prophet’s injunctions of piety, honesty, charity and generosity to the less privileged, impartial leadership and true justice for all.”
Oba Olanite added that “the significance of the celebration is not in the blood or the flesh of the rams that are slaughtered, but in living in obedience to the will and the Word of God.”
The custodian of culture also urged leaders at all levels to make necessary sacrifices that will enhance unity and national cohesion, and show greater patriotism in order to accelerate national growth and development.
