Eden Hazard ‘reaches verbal agreement’ with Real Madrid ahead of summer switch from Chelsea

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Real Madrid to join Los Blancos this summer.

Belgian flier Hazard has openly courted a move away from Stamford Bridge following the Blues’ failure to qualify for the Champions League next term.

He enjoyed a stellar World Cup helping Belgium to a third-placed finish – their best ever in the tournament.

Real are keen on luring the 27-year-old to the Spanish capital and have money to spend following the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus in a near-£100million deal.

After Belgium’s win against England in the third-place playoff, Hazard admitted he was considering leaving Chelsea.

“After six wonderful years at Chelsea it might be time to discover something different,” he said.

“Certainly after this World Cup. I can decide if I want to stay or go, but Chelsea will make the final decision – if they want to let me go. You know my preferred destination.”

French outlet RMC Sport say an agreement has been reached between Hazard and Real, but Chelsea are yet to accept a bid from the European champions.

Hazard still has two years left on his Blues contract – but his market value will fall drastically if he does not agree a new contract in west London.
