Dramatic Day in Rivers: Assembly Complex Demolished, As Fubara Presents Budget at Govt House

Intrigues persist in the aftermath of the political crisis in Rivers State as the state House of Assembly Complex was demolished on Wednesday.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara presented the N800bn 2024 budget estimates to the Edison Ehie-led group at the Government House at the same moment the demolition occurred.

Ehie and Martins Amaewhule are entangled in a Speakership tussle currently in court.

The budget presentation took place at a hall in the Government House, apparently due to the ‘renovation’ work at the state assembly complex that commenced Wednesday morning.

Members of the House loyal to Ehie attended the budget presentation, while none of the members who recently moved from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) were in attendance.

Also present were former House Speaker Adams Dabotorudinma and former Deputy Speaker Marshal Uwom.
