Arsenal board ready to sell players behind Arsene Wenger

Arsenal are ready to cash in on Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Jack Wilshere in January – if reasonable offers are made for the trio, reports claim.

All three of the first-team stars are edging closer to end of their current deals, with no shortage of interest from around Europe in luring them away from the Emirates.

While efforts will be made to tie them down to a new contract before the January transfer window flings open, Gunners bosses are open to selling them should no deal be struck, according to the Express.

The board will sanction sales for the trio regardless of the thoughts of Arsene Wenger, as they look to provide a cash injection into the club rather than allow them all to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Sanchez has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City, although Pep Guardiola’s side are believed to face competition from Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea.

A reunion with Jose Mourinho is believed to be on the cards for Real Madrid playmaker Mesut Ozil, with the Manchester United boss keen to lure him to Old Trafford, while Wilshere is thought to be open to a return to Bournemouth.
