APC vs PDP: Why Buhari govt decided to arraign CJN Onnoghen on criminal charges – Secondus

National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Uche Secondus has told Nigerians and the international community that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, wants to “destroy” the Nigerian judiciary ahead the 2019 general elections.

He said the plan by the federal government to arraign the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen on criminal charges on Monday was to intimate the judiciary.

Secondus, who led the PDP Presidential campaign train to Jos, Plateau state on Saturday, told a crowd of the party supporters at the Jos Polo ground that APC is afraid of an independent judiciary because of their agenda to rig the election.

The National Chairman said that Nigerians are ready and determined to throw the APC away and no amount of threats and harassment will deter the people from effecting the inevitable change.

“They want to kill Senator Dino, they want to kill the Senate President, they want to kill every body but they will fail because God is with Nigerians,” he said.

In a statement from his media office signed by Ike Abonyi, the National Chairman warned INEC and security agencies, “let me warn, you cannot rig this election, the will of the of the people must prevail whether you like it or not, that is democracy.”

He assured the people of Plateau that they should vote for PDP candidates in all the elections for lasting peace to come to Plateau because the PDP governorship candidate, Senator Jerry Useni and Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar have what it takes to provide enduring peace in the state.

“Atiku Presidency will not sleep until it provides jobs for the teeming youths of Nigeria and ensure harmonious living among the people”, Secondus added.
