Amosun restates commitment to worker’s welfare.

THE Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has again restated his administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare, which he said poised the state to commit 79 percent of the N5.7bn Paris Club refund to payment of deductions as against the 5O percent directed by the Federal Government.

Governor Amosun made this known at the 2017 Public Service Day lecture with the topic “Stress Management and Keeping Healthy” held at the June 12, Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta.

He reechoed that his administration has been consistent in the payment of salaries and monthly pensioners urging workers to avoid unnecessary confrontations as government was working assiduously to address other emoluments, assuring that the sum of N1Bn would be released to offset arrears of workers’ leave bonus along with September salary.

Similarly, the governor called on the workers to support the government to raise its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to about N10bn as this was the only way it could improve on the welfare of workers, unearthing that  the State has so far attracted 75 percent of Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) in Nigeria.

Stating that his administration was not oblivious of the productivity and contributions of the civil service to the successful running of the day-to-day activities of government, he noted that they deserved their emoluments, with the promise to do more as soon as the finances of the State improves.

Governor Amosun, therefore called on the entire work force to continue to be partners in progress and avoid distractions in order to contribute their quotas to the rebuilding mission of the State.
