The Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande on Thursday described the death of his former boss, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, immediate past Governor of Oyo State as a big loss to Oyo state and Nigeria and at large.
Adeolu Akande who commiserated with the late Governor Ajimobi’s family, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the people of Oyo state, also noted that he brought his knack for excellence to governance in the State and left impressive footprints in the areas of infrastructure development and general administration.
“I received with shock and grief the news of the passing of my former(?) boss, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, immediate past Governor of Oyo State.
“Senator Ajimobi will be remembered for making history as the first to serve two consecutive terms as governor of Oyo State. He brought his knack for excellence to governance in Oyo State and left impressive footprints in the areas of infrastructure development and general administration. He also made his mark in the political firmament across elective and party offices. His death is a big loss to the family, Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
“I mourn with the family the loss of a truly distinguished Nigerian and gentleman. I urge them to take consolation in the fact that Senator Ajimobi played his part well in the first ranks of every team.
“I commiserate especially with his amiable wife, Chief (Dr) Florence Ajimobi, the children and the entire Ajimobi family. May God grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and May the soul of Senator Abiola Ajimobi rest in God’s eternal peace”, the NCC boss said.
