The governorship candidate of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in the 2019 general elections in Oyo State, Oloye Sharafadeen Alli has described the late immediate past governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi as a pride of Ibadan land, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
Alli said Ajimobi was a great achiever who contributed greatly to the development of Ibadan land, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
The former secretary to the state government in a statement he personally signed in Ibadan on Friday said despite their different political ideology, Ajimobi maintained brotherly relationship with all and sundary in Ibadan land.
Alli, who is a former Odu’a investment Chairman noted that the indelible achievements of Ajimobi in the state and beyond would continue to speak for his family.
He prayed that God in His infinite mercies forgive all his wrong doings, while urging the people to use Friday and Sunday services at their private worship centres to pray for an end to the further spread of coronavirus; quick recovery for the sick and forgiveness of sins of all departed ones.
The statement read: “He was a pride of Ibadan land, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole. He was a great achiever who had contributed greatly to the development of new Oyo state.
“I want to appeal to all the Muslim and Christian faithful to use the opportunity of today (Friday) and coming Sunday to pray for an end to the further spread of coronavirus; quick recovery for the sick and forgiveness of sins of all departed ones”, Alli added.
