The National Population Commission (NPC) will recruit three million ad hoc staff for the 2023 population census.
Abdulmalik Durunguwa, NPC National Commissioner representing Kaduna State made the disclosure.
The official spoke on Wednesday in Kaduna at a town hall meeting on the trial census.
Durunguwa announced that the website for the recruitment would be opened in September for interested applicants.
He said the trial census, which would run till the end of July, was a dress rehearsal for the 2023 population and housing census.
Durunguwa solicited the support and cooperation of all stakeholders towards the success of the exercise.
“The 2023 census is going to be different from previous ones”, NAN quoted him saying.
“We are going to conduct a census that is uncontestable and acceptable by all
