A Nigerian youth leader based in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Prince Adetayo Adekunle has berated ex- President Olusegun Obasanjo for his incessant attacks on President Muhammadu Buhari.

Contained in a statement made available to Mega Icon Magazine at the weekend in response to President Obasanjo’s latest tirade, Adekunle asked rhetorically “How can a man who used federal forces to remove 3 governors, sent the military to level two Nigerian towns, engineered the removal of several Senate Presidents for not doing his bidding, initiated an illegal third term bid, withheld Lagos funds in spite of Supreme Court judgements among other infractions turn round and accuse a President who didn’t do any of these of things of being like Abacha and expect reasonable people to take him seriously?”

Adekunle, who is also one of the spokespersons of the Professor Yemi Osinbajo (PYO) Support Group, asserted that “Baba Obasanjo is a man I respect a lot but it is common knowledge in Yorubaland that any elder who ties maize to his backside risks being mocked by fowls”

According to him, “the next election is essentially a battle amongst those who see Nigeria as an extension of their estate represented by Obasanjo and his co travellers on one hand and the poor who have benefited immensely from the Buhari administration on the other hand.”

Adekunle, however expressed confidence in the current administration assuring Nigerians that Buhari/Osinbajo’s electoral victory will, by God’s Grace in February, demystify the power mongers and their allies who have held the country by the jugular for so long.
