A suspected armed robber, identified as ‘Togo’ on Saturday escaped arrest from the Oyo State Police Command, Mega Icon Magazine reliably gathered.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) , ASP Adekunle Ajisebutu, who also confirmed the development, assured, “the Command remains committed towards his arrest”.
The groom, a suspected armed robber targeted on a day he was tying a nuptial knot was lucky to have escaped arrest during the wedding procession at Olaoluwa , Amuloko Area of Ibadan.
Interestingly, Togo and his bride fled the scene together and escaped arrest during the engagement service, probably after harvesting privileged information.
Meanwhile, an eyewitness account at the even had earlier disclosed that the police who stormed the event arrested Togo.
” Immediately the policemen storm the venue they headed straight to where the groom was sitting and handcuffed him. They also picked some members of his family, while this was going on, people that have come from different locations for the wedding flee in different directions into the thin air”.
He hinted further “the groom was arrested based on the information that he was getting married today”.
The Corps spokesperson, Ajisebutu, however assured that the command has intensified its high powered intelligence and necessary strategies to apprehend the culprit soon .
