A gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Dr. Olusola Ayandele, on Monday reiterated that the issue of paucity of funds to run governmental affairs will be adequately tackled to pave way for prosperity and life in abundance if he could succeed the incumbent governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, on May 29, 2019.
Speaking with a team of journalists at his Olusola Ayandele Eruobodo/Stainless 2019 Campaign Organization office located at Molete in Ibadan, the Oyo APC gubernatorial hopeful blamed the current economic instability on previous administrations which, according to him, failed to plan adequately for the rainy days at the time they had the opportunity.
“Nigerians would not have had to experience this kind of economic hardship if those at the helms of affairs before now had reinvested the nation’s resources at their disposal in human capacity development, social infrastructure and power. Right from the 70s, the leadership of the country showed little or no clue on how to set the country on the right path of development and this continued for a long time.
“Why would Nigeria depend on conjecture to know its true population and its distribution? Why would states with enormous resources depend solely on handouts from Abuja? Decisive action implementation on wealth creation and regeneration would assist states like Oyo to live up to expectations. By this May 29, Governor Ajimobi would have completed the task of foundation laying.
“With improved infrastructure, adequate security and value orientation which formed the hallmark of Ajimobi administration, Oyo State stands a good chance to be among the best in the world provided that a person of great pedigree and avowed commitment could be thrown up to be the next governor.
“If vast experience in both the private and public sectors, track record of service to the people, possession of virtuous traits among other qualities are essential for the determination of the right man for the job among many contenders particularly within Oyo APC, party stakeholders need to consider the option of Dr. Olusola Ayandele and they will never regret it”, the Ibarapa-born politician restated
