OYO State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, yesterday paid an unannounced visits to schools in the state to check examination malpractice in the ongoing WAEC examination.
The state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Adeniyi Olowofela while addressing newsmen during the visit said the exercise was to ensure strict compliance to examination procedure, rules and regulations in all schools in the state.
According to him, “it is important for us to monitor all the schools in the state. Our officials have been going round to ensure sanity”.
He emphasized that Examination must be written according to laid down rules and regulation.
Olowofela cautioned, however, that the teachers and students must maintain high level of discipline and comport themselves.
At the end of the exercise, the commissioner, who was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mrs Aderonke Makanjuola and Directors from the Ministry expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the examinations generally.
“I am impressed with the general conduct of the examinations. The discipline has been evident”.
The biology paper which started at 2:00pm, was hitch-free at Community Grammar School, Elewura, Eyinni High School, Orita Challenge.
Others include Abe Tech Secondary School,Odo Ona Elewe and Liberty Secondary Commercial Academy, Odo Ona Elewe.
