THE Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Adeniyi Olowofela has lamented low credit given to the NPower and homegrown school feeding programs by the administration of President Mohammadu Buhari as the best at alleviating poverty and increasing standard of living.
The Commissioner who also the All Progressives Congress (APC) Aspirant for 2019 House of Representatives election in Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency penultimate week during a ward tour in the constituency maintained that the two programs by President Buhari has helped masses in no small measure.

According to him, Homegrown School Feeding has improved on agricultural value chain and provide delicious and nutritious meals that can boost brain’s better functioning to primary school pupils and N-Power which has also engaged youths in the country and distract them from their illicit lifestyle.
The Commissioner who also a University Don said: “Education in Oyo State is improving more than before with the effort of the Federal Government that complement the state government’s effort. The government of President Buhari’s target are poor Nigerians to make them more comfortable while those fighting him are selfish rich Nigerians.
“I will tell you two projects by President Buhari to prove his good wish for the poor. Number one is homegrown school feeding program which feeds pupils from Primary 1- 3 with free nutritious meals in school everyday. And most interesting thing is that the gesture is not for a section of pupils. All pupils can benefit from the program irrespective of political affiliation. Meaning that, whether you’re a child of APC, PDP, Accord or other political party, you can eat from the meals.
“Also the N-Power, the beneficiaries are not limited to APC but to everybody irrespective of political or social affiliation. And definitely, the creator of these children that benefits from Homegrown feeding program and youths from N-Power will enable President Buhari to be re-elected and also the N-Power beneficiaries will not pray he loses his re-election bid”, the Commissioner stated.
Professor Olowofela also during the ward tour urged the APC party members to reconcile with their aggrieved members.
“Recently some aggrieved members of APC raised eyebrows and some eventually left the political party. Some are aggrieved and left but have not gone far, let’s call them back to our fold, please let’s do because we belong to the same political family. But for those that won’t listen, we can leave them; because some people are meant to cause chaos, therefore let’s allow them to go.
“Considering the political parties they are joining, etymologically, joining in this context means they are political mistletoes. Because mistletoes don’t have root but live on other plants to survive. And when a farmer wants to remove unwanted plants, it is the mistletoes he cuts to allow real plants to to grow well.

“Similarly, when these host political parties want to remove the unwanted members, the decamped or joined members will first be removed. Therefore, let’s call the aggrieved members back and let them realize that there are still rooms for them in the party so that they won’t suffer the imminent consequences of joining those political parties”, he appealed.
Olowofela noted that APC is the most established political party with ruling President, Governors, Council Chairmen and Councillors with robust party members saying, leaving APC to join the briefcase political parties is a negative decision.
He added that the State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has some opportunities to offer party members in the state but still tarry for the return of the repentant among aggrieved members to partake in the benefits.
The Academician cum politician maintained that the Governor is a good party leader whose character modelled after what Jesus said in the bible that: ‘Shepard that lost one out of his 100 sheep, will leave the 99 sheep and go out to find the missing one because if he doesn’t do that, it will be a prey to a fox’.
