UI professor, Ajewole killed in Ibadan

A professor of  Social and Environmental Forestry at the University of Ibadan (UI), Opeyemi Ajewole, has been assassinated by unknown assailants in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

According to a colleague of the deceased who confirmed the ugly incident, the varsity don, Ajewole was killed by suspected assassins on his way home yesterday.

“It is true. He was killed last night while returning home. They shot him and took his car. He was my friend.

“I just confirmed from a member of his Faculty now,” the lecturer added.

Also, the Principal Assistant Registrar, Public Communications of at the institution, Joke Akinpelu, has confirmed the incident.

“Yes, it is true. He was killed yesterday,” she said.
