Tyson Fury is plotting his return to the boxing ring – and has teased a potential summer clash with current heavyweight king Anthony Joshua.
Fury has not fought since defeating Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015, where he won a unanimous points decision to claim the IBF, WBA and WBO world heavyweight titles.
He twice postponed rematches with Klitschko in the intervening two year period, before losing his boxing licence last October when he admitted he was using cocaine and struggling with depression.
In 2016 he appeared to retire, tweeting “I’m the greatest, and I’m also retired” – before performing a U-turn three hours later.
Earlier this month he again seemingly announced his exit from the fight game, before clarifying that he would instead merely not be applying for a boxing licence through the British Boxing Board of Control.
Now Fury, once the biggest sound in the heavyweight division but who has been relegated to background noise amid Joshua’s ascent, has revealed his plans to fight again THREE times in 2018.
He wrote on social media on Thursday evening: “Be ready to fight in April 2018 in a great fight! & again in the summer in a mega fight! & again in back end of year. 3 big fights in 2018.”
Fury is preparing a comeback fight in April and he has made no bones about his desire to follow that up by going after two-belt heavyweight champ Joshua.
Last month he told BT Sport about how he had begun working to get back into shape, with Joshua – a man believes he would have no trouble beating – his target.
“They call me the boomerang. I always come back. [Joshua vs Fury] is the fight people want to see and the fight I’d love,” declared Fury.
“I think it’s an easy fight for me with my boxing skill.”
He added: “I’ve got to get some weight off. I’ve lost nearly two stone in two weeks so everything is going really well for me at the moment.
“I’ve turned my life around. I’ve done a U-turn on everything and I’m feeling a lot better than I did before.”
