Tottenham were beaten on penalties by Barcelona in the International Champions Cup clash in Barcelona.
Spurs fought back from 2-0 down against the Spanish champions before falling to defeat in the shootout.
Barca were ahead after just 15 minutes when Munir headed in and then Arthur doubled their lead.
But Spurs hit back as Christian Eriksen rattled the post with a 30-yard free-kick.
Tottenham got back into the game 16 minutes from time when Son Heung-Min scored from close range after Eriksen’s initial shot was blocked.
Georges-Kevin N’Koudou then levelled a minute later in a goalmouth scramble after Anthony Georgiou had a shot blocked and Son backheeled the ball to N’Koudou who converted.
The game then wait straight to penalties but Georgiou saw his effort saved by Jasper Cillessen and Barcelona converted all five penalties to secure a 5-3 victory.
Elsewhere, Manchester City also fought back from two goals down against Bayern Munich.
Meritan Shabani and Arjen Robben put Bayern ahead while City had Riyad Mahrez taken off injured before the break.
But Bernardo Silva struck twice for the Premier League champions with teenager Lukas Nmecha also on target.
