President Bola Tinubu has pledged that the perpetrators behind the heinous killings of the Onimojo of Imojo-Ekiti, Oba Olatunde Olusola, and the Elesun of Esun-Ekiti, Oba David Ogunsola, will not elude justice.

President Tinubu, who is currently in France for a private visit, expressed condemnation for the “mindless and brutal bloodletting” that claimed the lives of the two revered traditional rulers while returning from a meeting in Irele-Ekiti on Monday.

His spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, conveyed Tinubu’s condolences to the families and subjects of the deceased monarchs, Governor Biodun Oyebanji, and the entire Ekiti State community, describing the incident as a “deeply agonising development.”

Additionally, the President has directed immediate efforts for the rescue of kidnapped pupils and teachers in the Eporo-Ekiti area, emphasising the urgency to address the security concerns in the region.

“As security of life and property is the primary responsibility of government, President Tinubu assures Nigerians that the nation’s security architecture is being robustly fortified for better and expected outcomes,” the statement added.
