The presidential aspiration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, got a boost, as a political group, loyal to the former governor of Lagos state – the Southwest Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA’23) secured more delegates ahead of the party’s primary election.
Mega Icon Magazine recalled that Tinubu had earlier met with some sections of the delegates, including the serving members of the House of Representatives, the senate, delegates from various States, governors, and other critical stakeholders.
Continuing with its mobilization efforts, SWAGA’23 has started interfacing and consulting with delegates on behalf of Tinubu towards securing the APC presidential ticket at its primary billed for 30th May 2022.
According to Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, one of the leaders of the group, “it is imperative to meet with our former principal officers of the State Houses of Assembly who are not just delegates but are leaders in their rights closer to the grassroots. It is on this note that the recent interface with the Oyo State members was embarked upon and this has yielded a 98% positive response in support of our principal and the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by God’s grace; H.E Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu”, the former lawmaker explained.
When contacted, the National Secretary of the group, Hon. Bosun Oladele informed that the objective of the exercise is “let no delegate be left behind” hence the move.
SWAGA’23 is the foremost support group for Tinubu and has remained consistent in its activities since 2020.
