Suspected Cultists Claim Five Lives in Rivers Community Attack
Residents of Odiemerenyi in Ahoada East LGA of Rivers State are in panic after suspected cultists, allegedly led by David Gift (aka 2baba), shot and killed five community members around 1 am on Sunday.
The perpetrators, wanted for the murder of DPO Bako Angbashim, reportedly threatened more violence unless their detained associates were released.
Two brothers and another person were killed in one resident’s compound, with a total of five casualties.
Police responded, engaging in a gun battle that resulted in the death of two gang members.
The deceased victims, including Charles Osu, Ogbobula Ejee, and Eeje Idaowukwo, were accused of being police informants by the cultists.
The police spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, is yet to confirm the incident.
