Super Eagles Captain, Mikel Obi Retires From National Team

 The 32-year old Super Eagles Captain, John Mikel Obi has announced his retirement from the national team.

Obi retired after the Super Eagles of Nigeria took the third position at the 2019 AFCON.

This was confirmed in a post on his verified Instagram handle.

He said, “At the age of 32 it’s time for me to retire from the National team and let the youth take over, who’ve done an amazing job securing a bronze medal at AFCON 2019.”
