The Ekiti state chapter of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), led by Hon. Famuyibo Oluwasegun, has commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his swift response to consider as well as approve the subsidy removal palliatives to the people of the state.
NYCN, in a statement, on Friday, also passed a vote of confidence on the governor for his outstanding performance.
The council described Governor Oyebanji’s pragmatic moves as people-oriented leadership, adding that it’s in the best interest of all Ekiti people.
The national youth group’s chairman, Famuyibo recalled that in May, following the announcement by President Bola Tinubu that subsidy has been removed, the Governor, as a matter of urgency, implemented palliative measures to mitigate the effects of fuel subsidy removal on Ekiti People.
Famuyibo urged the Committee in Charge to ensure transparency and accountability in the distribution of the palliatives so that they can reach the masses at the grassroots, who are largely affected by the removal of fuel subsidies.
“Just when residents of Ekiti State felt that their suffering was endless, our amiable Governor brought succour”, the statement said.
He thanked the governor for being alive to his responsibilities, calling on all Ekiti residents, irrespective of all differences, to support him to provide more dividends of democracy.
Famuyibo, however, pledged the council’s unalloyed support and loyalty to Governor Oyebanji
