The outage prompted a surge in reports across various social media channels, with millions expressing their frustration and confusion.
Trending hashtags like #instagramdown and “Facebook and Instagram” dominated discussions as users sought information and shared their experiences.
Downdetector, a website that tracks online service outages, displayed a significant increase in reported issues related to logging into Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. Users flooded the platform with complaints, indicating a widespread impact on Meta-owned services.
As of the time of this report, Meta, the parent company of both Facebook and Instagram, has not issued any official statement regarding the outage.
